Let go and Let God by Trudy Ross

Isaiah 40:28-31
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (NIV)

Where do I start…  Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you keep asking God..WHEN? When is this gonna change, why is this happening, why is it happening to me…well for quite a while that right there was me. At one point I began to think I was annoying God. Then guess what happened? I began to take notice of people around me and how much louder they must have been screaming God why me and when will THIS stop? I noticed I was drawn to a place where I always found my self in prayer on the behalf of these people. The more I did the more I saw something else God wanted me to do, not for me but for someone else.  Mind you my situation  had not changed but he had me busy doing and focusing on other stuff I didn’t  have the time to be focused on me. Guys when I tell you God is a God of HIS time he is!!!!

Let me fill you in some more, I recently migrated to the USA and believe me when I tell you I cried to go home more than anyone else that had taken this road. I was suddenly without a job and in a totally new culture. I applied to every job l could find, nothing happened ( it was during this time I think I became annoying to him…*why me Lord??*  every second of the day. I learned during  this time if it is not Gods time and his will it will not happen.

Fast forward to today I had totally stop stressing about my jobless situation and was busy focusing on what I could do in his kingdom. You know what? That’s all God wanted me to do , handle his business and he will take care of ours.

I had started a event planning company back  home but didn’t think it would go anywhere here…mind you this is my passion, its what I love to do. Right when I wasn’t looking God was lining up everything to fall into place to show not just me when we let everything go and trust him what great thing he can do. He placed people in my life that was about to take things to another level it would blow minds..he reminded me of my dreams,my passion and reminded me that it was not dead it was just  sleeping waiting on the RIGHT TIME and trust me until he says its over it isn’t

I am sitting here getting ready to step out with this company and I am still in awe of how God brought it into place. Take a look at this  http://www.trustarrdesigns.com/  and just look at how big our God is.  He brought people into my life to fulfill his will and not only in my life but the  persons he was lining up. From where I’m sitting the sky is the limit from here , with God as my pilot though.

In closing I will leave with you this: We were put on this earth to praise him, to be about his business. It is when we do this and let go of stressing about  our daily situations and trust him ,we will see that he has always been about ours.

God’s Promise to David

Chronicles 17:1-15

1 After David was settled in his palace, he said to Nathan the prophet, “Here I am, living in a palace of cedar, while the ark of the covenant of the LORD is under a tent.

2 Nathan replied to David, “Whatever you have in mind, do it, for God is with you.”

3 That night the word of God came to Nathan, saying:

4 “Go and tell my servant David, ‘This is what the LORD says: You are not the one to build me a house to dwell in.

God's Promise for me

God’s Promise for me

5 I have not dwelt in a house from the day I brought Israel up out of Egypt to this day. I have moved from one tent site to another, from one dwelling place to another.

6 Wherever I have moved with all the Israelites, did I ever say to any of their leaders whom I commanded to shepherd my people, “Why have you not built me a house of cedar?” ‘

7 “Now then, tell my servant David, ‘This is what the LORD Almighty says: I took you from the pasture and from following the flock, to be ruler over my people Israel.

8 I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have cut off all your enemies from before you. Now I will make your name like the names of the greatest men of the earth.

9 And I will provide a place for my people Israel and will plant them so that they can have a home of their own and no longer be disturbed. Wicked people will not oppress them anymore, as they did at the beginning

10 and have done ever since the time I appointed leaders over my people Israel. I will also subdue all your enemies. ” ‘I declare to you that the LORD will build a house for you:

11 When your days are over and you go to be with your fathers, I will raise up your offspring to succeed you, one of your own sons, and I will establish his kingdom.

12 He is the one who will build a house for me, and I will establish his throne forever.

13 I will be his father, and he will be my son. I will never take my love away from him, as I took it away from your predecessor.

14 I will set him over my house and my kingdom forever; his throne will be established forever.‘ ”

15 Nathan reported to David all the words of this entire revelation.

Thank you note from President Barack Obama

Thank you for making this possible. It’s an honor to be your president.
Now it’s time to finish what we started — let’s get going.

President and Joe

This is what sets this President apart from his predecessors.  A simple thank you note, a simply way of including the grass root people and making them feel integrated in the process to uncovering a better United States America.

The work we have begun is not completed and though we might not be in agreement with everything, he said or does.

Let us join hands and heart and pray for him and his administration. He has to lead through tough times and as a leader myself it is difficult to lead in my tiny role when there is any form of dissension or division.

Can you image him in his role as the President of the United States?

Please join our team of prayer warriors from Prayer Work Evangelism Outreach Ministries and start praying for our President, all those in authority and our Nation under God.

The word of God encourage us to do so.

1 Timothy 2: 1 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”

Urgent Prayer Request

We desperately need your prayers in our situation.

Men are always to pray

My name is Olubunmi, I am a British Citizen who lives in London, my partner, Audrey is an American Citizen, who at the moment, still lives in Gladstone Missouri.

Last June, Audrey went to Ivory Coast to sell off his Late Father’s ship. Once the sell of the ship went through, Audrey found himself embroiled in massive amount of Red Tape, which involved the Customs in Ivory Coast, who have subsequently placed one challenge after the other on Audrey, hence preventing him from returning to the USA.

When Audrey went to the American Embassy in Ivory Coast to ask for help and assistance in this matter, the Embassy has refused to help him, purely because Audrey mistakenly did not apply for the Smart Travelers Enrollment Program, before he left the States.

Audrey has left his ten-year old daughter back home in the States with friends and you can imagine what the separation is doing to them. We have now all missed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year.

As you can imagine Audrey is slowly becoming quite despondent and he is fighting to hold.

Please pray for us, that Audrey will be able to leave Ivory Coast and return home safely.

Thank you and God Bless.

What Beauty Speaks a post by Olayemi Eric Ogunbase

Philippians 4:8 (KJV) “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

We NEED what Beauty speaks. What it says is hard to put into words. But part of its message is, all is well. All will be well.

Beauty invites

Recall what it is like to hear a truly beautiful piece of music. It captures you; you want to sit down and just drink it in. We buy the CD and play it many times over. (This is not visual, showing us that beauty is deeper than looks.). Music like this commands your attention, invites you to come more deeply into it. The same is true of a beautiful garden, or a scene in nature. You want to enter in, explore, partake of it. Feast upon it. We describe a great book as “captivating” also. It draws you in, holds your attention. You can’t wait to get back to it, spend time with it. All of the things that God wants of us. All of the things a woman wants, too. Beauty invites.
Beauty nourishes
It is a kind of food our souls crave. A woman’s breast is among the loveliest of all God’s works, and it is with her breast she nourishes a baby – a stunning picture of the way in which Beauty itself nourishes us. In fact, a woman’s body is one of the most beautiful of all God’s creations. “Too much of eternity,” as Blake said, “for the eye of man.” It nourishes, offers life. That is such a profound metaphor for Beauty itself. As Lewis said,

We do not want merely to see beauty, though, God knows, even that is bounty enough. We want something else which can hardly be put into words-to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it. (The Weight of Glory)

Beauty comforts

There is something profoundly healing about it. Have you ever wondered why we send flowers to the bereaved? In the midst of their suffering and loss, only a gift of beauty says enough, or says it right. After I lost my dearest friend Brent, there were months where only beauty helped. I could not hear words of counsel. I could not read or even pray. Only beauty helped. It soothes the soul. There’s a touching story told from the hospitals of WWII, where a young and badly wounded soldier was brought in from a hellish week of fighting. After doing what she can for him, the nurse asks if there is anything else she can do. “Yes,” he said. “Could you just put on some lipstick while I watch?” Beauty comforts.

Beauty inspires

After beholding all the marvelous wonders of the creation of Narnia (as told in The Magician’s Nephew by C.S. Lewis), the cabbie says, “Glory be!” “I’d have been a better man all my life if I’d known there were things like this!” Or as Jack Nicholson says to Helen Hunt at the end of As Good as it Gets, “You make me want to be a better man.” Isn’t it true? Think of what it might have been like to have been in the presence of a woman like Mother Teresa. Her life was so beautiful, and it called us to something higher.

The Power of Praying by John L Hemphill III

Often time in life we face difficult moments; moments that are greater than us and they bring challenges in our lives that are to hard to overcome. In such times we go to God in prayer but how do we pray where we are sure that God hears us? How do we pray so that we can be certain that God is the one we must trust in? Well, let’s look at the text:
Exodus 32:10-14
10 Now leave me alone so that my anger may burn against them and that I may destroy them. Then I will make you into a great nation.” 11 But Moses sought the favor of the LORD his God. “O LORD,” he said, “why should your anger burn against your people, whom you brought out of Egypt with great power and a mighty hand? 12 Why should the Egyptians say, ‘It was with evil intent that he brought them out, to kill them in the mountains and to wipe them off the face of the earth’? Turn from your fierce anger; relent and do not bring disaster on your people. 13 Remember your servants Abraham, Isaac and Israel, to whom you swore by your own self: ‘I will make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and I will give your descendants all this land I promised them, and it will be their inheritance forever.’ 14 Then the LORD relented and did not bring on his people the disaster he had threatened.
This is an interesting text; those who go to church may have heard it before but we must be careful not to make the text say what we want it to say; we must never add to the text or take away from the text because Proverbs and Job warn us what can happen if we do that.
In the circumstance involved the Lord grew angry with Israel, so much so that He was ready to destroy the nation and start it over again with Moses. Notice how Moses prayed! Moses didn’t pray with the attitude that he had power. He didn’t pray with the attitude of deserving anything. Moses didn’t say to God that in the name of Jesus I command this to happen nor did he say that I deserve this; even based on the promises. To say such a thing is in pride. James says, we have not because we ask not and often when we ask we ask amiss; to ask amiss often means we ask with the wrong heart or the wrong attitude; we are me focused and not God focused.
First, we you come to God you must believe that he is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him; Enoch preached this; this means that when you pray to God you must know that there is a God and that He values your prayers and has the ability to give you what you pray. In other words to pray you have to have faith that God can do what He says; this is also why God had the prophet Enoch say that without faith it is impossible to please God. Proverbs also says that the sacrifices of the wicked our an abomination but the prayers of the righteous are His delight so when you pray understand that God wants to hear your prayers and He wants you to talk to Him while understanding that He can act on your behalf as a father to a child. Jesus also reflects this in the Gospel of Luke when Jesus says if a child asks for fish will his father give him a stone; God knows what you need and He likes to hear to come to Him asking.
But when you pray there is a way to ask God for things; yes you can come to the Lord as a child to a father because the Lord is our Heavenly Father; or our Pater Noster; however God so you don’t just come to Him any old way; He is not your boy or your “homie”; He is still God. He is the God who destroyed the Assyrian army of 250000 soldiers in one day. He is the God who destroyed the Egyptian army in the Red Sea and did so not only effectively but as a result Egypt lost control of Canaan and it shifted the geopolitical structure of the Middle East; that’s why Joshua fought the Canaanites and not the Egyptians even though the Egyptians had fortresses in Canaan. He is the God who lives beyond time and is clothed in light; yet since He made time He chose for the love of you to step into time and called Him Jesus; as a result even though He was human He was still Christ all-powerful or Christ Pantocrator; that’s why the laws of humanity like time and death couldn’t overtake Jesus because He was from beyond time so the jurisdiction doesn’t apply.
For some of you who may be skeptical of God entering time and calling Himself Jesus consider this. If Spike Lee can make a movie, direct it, and star in it; with his flaws; then surely God cal make time, direct and command it, and still call Himself Jesus and play a staring role in human history.
When you pray know that God hears you; He wants to heat you from you; He has the power to help you; you can speak to Him freely but you must respect who He is because He is God and Lord over all. Also, however notice Moses.
Moses came to the Lord correctly and considered God first; considered how God would look to the unbelievers so that the glory of God would be considered. Moses also considered and prayed the promises of God to the Lord; He reminded God about what He said. Notice, Moses didn’t just pray his desire; he didn’t just pray what he wanted; He submitted his will to God’s will; He submitted his desires to what God said and the purpose of the Great Commission even before the Great Commission was given by Jesus; how do we know this; its really simple; Moses said to God in his prayer; what will those who don’t believe you say if you destroy your own people. God’s word and His purpose to bring glory to Himself and saving souls must come first so to submit to that and what God says is key. Another thing that is key is that the promises of God must come true; Heaven and Earth will pass away before a single word will pass away so if God makes a promise in His word; then it is senseless to pray against it or expect God to not keep His promises; it is senseless to try to manipulate circumstances to get around what God says. Proverbs says that there is no wisdom, council or understanding against the Lord. If you want a prayer not to be answered then pray against what God has commanded. But if you want you prayers answered submit your will to God’s will and commandments and then with a humble heart pray what you desire but put what God says first because God will honor His will. If you bend your will to the will of God then God won’t just hear you; but He will hear His promises and see your humility when He searches your heart and if your desires fit what God promises; then God will respect your prayers.
Lastly, there are some who believe that God can change His mind and they use this text to hold a false belief; but you need to know the truth; that God doesn’t have a reason to change His mind because he already knows what will happen in advance. God knows the future so when you know the future you plan in advance for what is to come so you don’t have to change anything for He is beyond time and is not affected by space and time; nor the passage of time; God made the speed of light, and every other law. God shows this repeatedly in the scriptures. However for the sake of argument; let me show this fact about the Lord so you can move closer to Him. Yet, even though the Lord did spare Israel we must remember that God also wiped out that generation of Israel and they wondered in the desert for 40 years. God still followed His course in many ways; God never changes His mind but He will amend circumstances for us when we prayer and approach Him the right way and He will move.

Custody Battle

I need prayer and it’s pretty deep of an issue. It’s a nasty custody battle that my son’s father is using the court system to spread his lies to decrease child support and rip my son from his stable home. He doesn’t really want sole custody because its been 11 yrs since my son is with me legally and he only tried once I increased financial support in July.

I have had to file restraining order on him and his wife due to threats and him defaming me and blocking driveway. He has sent police out  to my place  twice for lies. (taking sons phone and false child abuse report) He has turned my kids against me by telling them lies and bringing up things to have the kids choosing sides. Now I have a defiant 14 yr old that is really hurting inside and saying he is confused and lacking purpose (he told a friend of mine).

I call forth salvation for their father. I call forth unbroken fellowship with kids for us to go back to how things were. I pray my son would choose obedience and love over disobedience. I pray for peace for all. I pray for father of my kids that he will not be able to speak should he choose to lie in court in September.  I pray that the judge will see through the existing documents that they are full of lies. I pray for us to reach an agreement that benefits my son without further brainwashing from his father.

I pray that this anger is cast down so my son can rest and not have to keep false documentation on me for the court mediator. Please pray for strength for me as I cherish my relationship with kids. Jesus you are holding me close!
