It’s time for the already done type of praise, like GOD has already made a way out of no way type of praise.
I sought the Lord and He heard me

Purpose Filled Day

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Today I got up, we had prayer meeting at 5:00 am, and before you know it, I wrote an article called “Knowing God speaks. I knew before the day starts that the day was going to be interesting and great things were going to happen.

Visitor on the prayer line

I knew there was someone different on the conference call. After prayer, I called the unfamiliar number to introduce myself, only to find out that it was Stacy Reid.  We have prayed for her since the inception of the group.  It was a true encouragement.  We spoke briefly and then we went off to our separate world.

Talking with Stacy in person confirms that God does answer prayers.

Doing little things that counts

Jaiden Rae was eager to get to school.  It was her special day to have “her mommy” reads to her and her school friend. However, what is most important is to have her mommy drops and picks her from school. We teach Jaiden Rae that God works upon the desires of her and that she should communicate her needs to the Lord.

Therefore, you know when today happen she knows that God answers prayer.  That is a blessing because from an early age she knows that prayer works and she can identify when it works.

Reading to her and her classmates was a true miracle. It is funny how God can show himself through the simplest of things like reading to a group of four years old.

Glory in everything

As that was over it was business as usual and time to be at the dentist.  Going to the dentist is not a walk in the park for me. Therefore, I have to be prayed up. I was early for a change. You can imagine I could not cancel the appointment anymore without a charge.

As I sat in the waiting area I heard Debbie, I look up and it was a man. I acted normal but inside I want to scream. A man, for my hygienist, I do not think so. Please forgive me for being sexist. However, as started to relax and give the young man a chance the Holy Spirit showed me my purpose.

I was there to pray for the young man and to pray for my Dental Office. It was a pleasant visit and I thank God that I was able to use going to the dentist as a place to do His work and to be in purpose.

I got home right after the dentist and even though it is not the regular practice for me to answer the ministry phone and to check the messages in the day, due to the fact that, I would be at work.

Today I did the opposite. I recognized a cell phone called from New York.

You can image, coming from the dentist all numbed from the medication. My lips heavy and my speech slurred but I was compelled to call. It was Miss Smith and her heart was heavy and she begun to cry and talk.

At the end, I learnt she found the number while searching for prayer on the internet.  This was not the only number she found. She also found a number to a physic person. When I returned the call, and was praying with her, she mentioned after the prayer that I intercepted a call she had made to a physic for help.

When we walk in spirit, we allow God to use us in everything we do or say. The day is not over.  I am sure he has more to reveal.

Thank you Father for showing up and revealing “You” in everything that happens.  Help us please to walk uprightly and to be aligned with your will.

What a God?

Knowing God Speaks

2 Chronicles 7:15 “Now my eyes shall be open, and my ears attentive unto the prayer that is made in this place.”

It is so important to be in purpose as a child of God and to know God’s voice.  In this world of leadership, everyone will come with what God said and what he did not say. Moreover, if you do not know What He’s saying then you will become confused.

I was talking with another leader the other day and she mentioned, “Many people has prophesied over my life and today I don’t think I can deal with anyone else prophesying over my life.”

The prophesies are far from the truth that God has for her.

This brings me to the place of asking the question do we frequently hear from God.

How does he speak?

In addition, what do we do when He is not speaking?

All the above happen at different stages of our walk in the Lord. Sometimes we hear him on a regular basis. Other times He is silent or he is speaking through unfamiliar medium and channels.

Therefore, if we are looking for him to be in a bond fire we might miss him in the tiny spark. We might be looking for a mighty roar and miss the still small voice.

As Christians, we need to develop a healthy walk with the Lord and this walk is one where we are spending quality time in his presence. This includes reading the word, listening, fasting, and praying, but not excludes other Godly practices that the Holy Spirit will reveal as the relationship grows and gets deeper.

Holy Spirit

When we do this, we hear him clearly and he speaks softly. He will create moments for us to become familiar with his voice in small and big things.  So for example He will say go right and then doubt creeps in and one goes left. In the wrong turn, His voice will say I say right (training). On the other hand, he will show a situation and say speak this or pray this and if one is not quick then he will ask someone else and then there is a reminder that “God” has spoken.

In my opinion, I think he does this for us not to doubt when he speak and for us to act swiftly in the spirit. Another thing is that God is always speaking and when he is not he has already spoken and the answer remains the same. In that moment, he teaches patience and gives rest while we wait.

If our relationship with him is shaky and we are not in fellowship with him then it will become frustrating for us to be hearing others say God said, this or that.

It is easy to hear from God but it takes discipline to form the right behaviors to be in a place to hear and to move past the noise. God is looking for us to have a relationship with him.  He is looking to commune with man like in the olden days. He wants to speak but most of the time we are doing all the speaking.

What is getting in the way of us hearing God?

There is a “peace” about when he speaks and when we walk in obedience. God will use people to speak to you but he wants to speak directly to you too. Be proactive about the kind of life you want to live for Jesus.

Someone encouraged me a few years ago to start reading my bible regularly, create a time and a specific place where I meet the Lord daily. Replace ungodly behaviors with godly behaviors, find a mentor to hold your hand as your grow.

Now it is my time to pass it on… I urge you today to do the same. God is waiting to talk with you and more so to share secrets with you.

The Prayer of Jabez

1 Chronicles 4:10 “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”

Dear Lord:

Today I pray the same prayer over my life, my children’s life, my family’s life, my friend’s lives and for all who I come in contact with for today.

Help me to see the Jesus in people and to focus on the positive. Show me how to trust you with everything in my life. I give you the big things and the small things to use them as you please.

I want to be just like you.  Father, I know that you want the best for me and sometimes because of the choices I made I have to be disciplined and in those moments your grace is enough. Help me to know that when you are silent I need to rest in you.

Teach me to be patient and lead me in the path of righteousness.  Crown me with your glory and the joy of my salvation. Help me to be a blessing regardless of my situation.  Show me how to love the unlovable and may I see hope in every thing that comes my way. Nothing is forever, this too will pass.

Lord, it is so easy for me to lose sight of how I should be in you but for today I pray you help me to constantly live and be in your presence.

I thank you Lord for who I am in you and I give you back the day to lead and direct me in your perfect will. Thank you for your blessings and favor that awaits me every morning.

Victory is mine

In closing, I step out in boldness, claiming everything that is already mine. Victory over my circumstances, peace over my mind, smiles on my face in spite of, joy in every moment, success in everything I do, love to cover a multitude of sin, patience to wait on you, gentleness in caring for people, meekness in my temperament, humility in my attitude, self-control in my behavior, mercy/goodness to forgive and to let go, wisdom to make the right decisions, knowledge to encourage and  the rest I leave to God. (Galatians 5:22-23)

Reflections by Tonetta Harris

Philippians 4:8 “Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.”

Think Pure

1 So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life – your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life – and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him.

2 Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You will be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.

3 I am speaking to you out of deep gratitude for all that God has given me, and especially as I have responsibilities to you  living then, as every one of you does, in pure grace. It is important that you know you are not represented as people who are bringing this goodness to God. No, God brings it all to you. The only correct way to understand ourselves is by what God is and by what he does for us, not by what we are and what we do for him.

4 In this way we are like the various parts of a human body. Each part gets its meaning from the body as a whole, not the other way around.

5 The body we are talking about is Christ‘s body of chosen people. Each of us finds our meaning and function as a part of his body. However, as a chopped-off finger or cut-off toe we would not amount too much, would we? So since we find ourselves fashioned into all these excellently formed and marvelously functioning parts in Christ’s body,

6 let’s just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pride-fully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren’t. If you preach, just preach God’s Message, nothing else.

7 If you help, just help, do not take over; if you teach, stick to your teaching.

8 If you give encouraging guidance, be careful that you don’t get bossy; if you’re put in charge, don’t manipulate; if you’re called to give aid to people in distress, keep your eyes open and be quick to respond; if you work with the disadvantaged, don’t let yourself get irritated with them or depressed by them. Keep a smile on your face.

9 Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good.

10 Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.

11 Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, 12 cheerfully expectant. Do not quit in hard times; pray all the harder.

13 Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.

14 Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath.

15 Laugh with your happy friends when they are happy; share tears when they are down.

16 Get along with each other; do not be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; do not be the great somebody.

17 Don’t hit back; discover beauty in everyone.

18 If you have it in you, get along with everybody.

19 Don’t insist on getting even; that is not for you to do. “I’ll do the judging,” says God. “I’ll take care of it.”

20 Our Scriptures tell us that if you see your enemy hungry, go buy that person lunch, or if he is thirsty, get him a drink. Your generosity will surprise him with goodness.

21 Don’t let evil get the best of you; get the best of evil by doing good.

Prayer with ceasing

Dear God, the master of all our problems. I worship you in spite of our setbacks. We are indeed in the last days, you have stated in your words that perilous times shall come. If ever a time we are experiencing perilous times its now.

We are so saddened by the tragedy in Connecticut. My savior you know the extend of the damage. Merciful father you know the pains that the loved ones of the bereaved family are experiencing at this time. I know prayer works for sure, because i have proven you so many times and times again.

I pray that you take control of the situation.I pray that those who mourn the death of these little children will with time find comfort in thee oh Lord.I pray that the blood of Jesus cover them. I pray the power of God to give them strength. I pray that you love lord Jesus will hold them so close. I pray for the onlookers who are also affected to learn some valuable lesson from the situation. In the beginning you spoke and it was done. I know even in this dispensation of Grace you are still speaking. Thank you Jesus. Grant us Oh Lord your needed sustenance.

In Jesus Holy Name.
