A Steady Race by Sheran Rowe

This had dropped into my spirit … The race is not for the swift but for the one who endureth to the end. Nevertheless, what caught my attention is the word ENDURETH.

Staying in the Race

Staying in the Race

To ENDURE means to suffer something painful.
To hold out against; sustain without impairment or yielding; undergo; to bear without resistance or with patience; tolerate: (Ecc 9.11.) The race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favor to men of skill; but time and chance happens to them all. Paul said,” I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith”(2 Tim.4:7)

Good morning God’s people, I feel compelled this morning to encourage you and to emphasize the importance of staying in this Christian race.
This race is not a Relay, it is not a Sprint, nor a short Distant neither is it a long Distant.
You do not have to lift weights; you only have to cast off the “weights” that can easily beset you.
Furthermore, the only training you have to do is for you to follow exactly what the trainer – JESUS, tells you.
• Pray without ceasing.
• Seek ye first the Kingdom of GOD.
• Casting all cares upon Him, He will sustain you.

You do not need your feet for this race. You only need the Holy Spirit. Alleluia!

Do you feel like quitting the Christian Race?

Has your circumstances caused you to want to quit on God?

God is calling you to remain faithful in this race. Be encouraged, He is right there with you, even when your circumstances may say He is not. We are living in a time where the bible declares, “The days are evil”, because of all the distractions, that is the economy, unemployment, suffering, lack of faith, love for self and money, self-dependency and many other things.
If you are, feeling discouraged and faced with the desire to quit the Christian race. Remember this race is neither for the swift nor the strong, but to those who endure to the end.
(Philippians 3:14 – ) I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Run this race with patience that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith. Be willing to endure trials and temptations, knowing that they only come just to make us strong. Stay in the race, keep a steady pace, keep your eyes on Jesus, and you will finish.
Lord, I thank you for helping me to gain the proper knowledge and understanding on what it means to “stay in the race”. I was drifting but God my strength is made perfect in you and you are my joy giver. Thank you for bringing me back to the correct centering to keep my eyes on you and to walk in the spirit.
