Isaiah 40:28-31
“Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.

Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men shall fall exhausted; but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.” (NIV)

Where do I start…  Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you keep asking God..WHEN? When is this gonna change, why is this happening, why is it happening to me…well for quite a while that right there was me. At one point I began to think I was annoying God. Then guess what happened? I began to take notice of people around me and how much louder they must have been screaming God why me and when will THIS stop? I noticed I was drawn to a place where I always found my self in prayer on the behalf of these people. The more I did the more I saw something else God wanted me to do, not for me but for someone else.  Mind you my situation  had not changed but he had me busy doing and focusing on other stuff I didn’t  have the time to be focused on me. Guys when I tell you God is a God of HIS time he is!!!!

Let me fill you in some more, I recently migrated to the USA and believe me when I tell you I cried to go home more than anyone else that had taken this road. I was suddenly without a job and in a totally new culture. I applied to every job l could find, nothing happened ( it was during this time I think I became annoying to him…*why me Lord??*  every second of the day. I learned during  this time if it is not Gods time and his will it will not happen.

Fast forward to today I had totally stop stressing about my jobless situation and was busy focusing on what I could do in his kingdom. You know what? That’s all God wanted me to do , handle his business and he will take care of ours.

MY MIRACLE

I had started a event planning company back  home but didn’t think it would go anywhere here…mind you this is my passion, its what I love to do. Right when I wasn’t looking God was lining up everything to fall into place to show not just me when we let everything go and trust him what great thing he can do. He placed people in my life that was about to take things to another level it would blow minds..he reminded me of my dreams,my passion and reminded me that it was not dead it was just  sleeping waiting on the RIGHT TIME and trust me until he says its over it isn’t

I am sitting here getting ready to step out with this company and I am still in awe of how God brought it into place. Take a look at this  http://www.trustarrdesigns.com/  and just look at how big our God is.  He brought people into my life to fulfill his will and not only in my life but the  persons he was lining up. From where I’m sitting the sky is the limit from here , with God as my pilot though.

In closing I will leave with you this: We were put on this earth to praise him, to be about his business. It is when we do this and let go of stressing about  our daily situations and trust him ,we will see that he has always been about ours.

Stepping Out of Our “Comfort Zone” by Trudy Ross

Matthew 14:22-33 (NIV)

22 Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowd. 23 After he had dismissed them, he went up on a mountainside by himself to pray. Later that night, he was there alone, 24 and the boat was already a considerable distance from land, buffeted by the waves because the wind was against it. 25 Shortly before dawn Jesus went out to them, walking on the lake. 26 When the disciples saw him walking on the lake, they were terrified. “It’s a ghost,” they said, and cried out in fear. 27 But Jesus immediately said to them: “Take courage! It is I. Don’t be afraid.” 28 Lord, if it’s you,” Peter replied, “tell me to come to you on the water.” 29 “Come,” he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus. 30 But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, “Lord, save me!” 31 Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “You of little faith,” he said, “why did you doubt?”

Step Out

It has been over a month since the Prayer Works Evangelism Outreach Street Ministry has been launched.  Watching God move has been an eye-opening and humbling experience for me.

The peace that comes with doing the will of God is another experience that words cannot explain.  All I know is that there is an inner peace that takes over your and if I should be honest “that peace” sometimes evades us.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you are too busy to think of anything else but you, and what concerns you?  Or have you ever told yourself “That’s not for me, I cannot do that!”

God has a way to shift us from that place of comfort that we sometimes find ourselves “ok” with.

Being involved in this Ministry has enabled me to step out of that place I called “Normal”. The reality of what is involved in ministering to the needy is such that while in the moment there is no room to zone in on “My Issues”. They become obsolete.

Before a breakthrough there is always struggles and if you are not Spiritually equipped you will quit before you begin. Every Sunday when it’s time to step out into the outreach arm of the ministry, the fight that comes and the pressure that builds up is one that would have you giving up.

We literally have to push past this feeling.

Today we packed the car, as usual, we pulled up and it was time to do what we set out to do.  We prayed again and stepped out. The minute we stepped out of the car you could feel God’s hand on what was about to take place.

First, it was one person and within five minutes or less it was a line as far as we could see.  The look on the faces of the people we saw, was one of complete happiness and hope, even if it was for just a time, THAT TIME, the joy of being ministered unto was something you could actually touch.

Not for a minute did I remember that this was not my “comfort zone” anymore, he had taken me to a new “normal”.

In closing let me ask you this. What is God asking you to do that you have questioned HIM so many times over if he is sure he got the right person?

Try this, step out of that comfort zone.  Let go and let GOD!

Legalizing Homosexuality by Madge Nosworthy

Romans 1:21-32 (NIV) 21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

The question of legalizing homosexuality has reached the Supreme Court. The onus is on the nine members to revise the Constitution, which upholds the Bible Principles that the union of a marriage is between a man and a woman.

A woman came forward to say that she was married to another woman for forty-three years.  It took a woman to take the Bible from the classroom and prayer out of society.

The big question is; are we going to stand and allow another woman to go against God’s law?

Act 2:24 states that we ought to obey God rather than man and Romans 2:21-32 gives a clear picture of the consequences of such actions.

America is the only nation founded on Christian principles.

How soon do we forget?

Let us stop being men pleaser and worship the Creator in truth. Remember our pledge, “One nation under God with liberty and justice for all”

We have to join forces and pray against such evil corruption of legalizing homosexuality. It is no wonder our nation is heading south because we have turned our backs on God. To have equal justice for all is one thing but to legalize a sin is outright lawlessness, which opens the door for the devil to take over and reign.

Food For Thought Blogging Award

Thank you, http://pastorchrisjordan.wordpress.com/2012/11/09/food-for-thought-blogging-award/, for nominating me for the Food for Thought Blogging Award!

A little bit of history:

Citizen Tom created the Food For Thought Award.  Here is his explanation: “What’s The Food for Thought Award? How can we combine The Super Sweet Blogger Award with The Thought Provoking Blog Award? Well, when a Christian blog offers visitors wisdom from the Word of God, isn’t that blog providing its visitors food for thought? Ah ha! Thus was born a new award.”

Here are the Rules:

  1. Post the award on your blog.
  2. Thank the one who nominated you and link back to their blog.
  3. Share seven of your favorite Bible passages. For extra points, (Perhaps our Father in heaven will award them), explain why each of these seven passages is a favorite.
  4. Nominate seven other bloggers you admire and enjoy! Why seven? In the Bible, seven symbolizes completeness.
  5. Inform each person that you have nominated them.

SEVEN OF MY FAVOURITE BIBLE PASSAGES:

This was a definite challenge because the Bible has 66 books,1189 chapters and 31,103 verses in a Bible. Beside that, about 137 more verses are actually unnumbered giving 31240 verses altogether. Therefore to pick seven favorite was very difficult. Having said that here is my seven for today:

  1. Lamentations 3:23 (NLT)Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning. “They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” I pick this verse because every moment I am reminded of his mercies and his faithfulness.  The reason behind writing and sharing is the gift of salvation.
  2. Luke 18:1-8 (NIV) “Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared about men. And there was a widow in that town that kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary….” I pick this scripture and particularly verse one again because pray does works. I have proven and seen how my life has changed because of praying and reading.
  3. Deuteronomy 4:24 “I am a consuming fire and a jealous God”.  I love this scripture because every moment it helps me to put God first and through the help of the holy spirit to eliminate idols from my life…
  4. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” This scripture guard against doubt and insecurities in my life. Whenever I feel hopeless or I start believing lies I would quote this scripture and get back to my centering in Christ.
  5. Romans 6:23 (KJV)For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” This one is my favorite too.  When I am out on the mission field and I get tired this helps me to keep going because souls are dying in sin because they have no one to tell them about the gift of God that brings eternal life. I am here because someone broke it down for me. Someone was  probably tired but patient.
  6. Galations 5:19-26 (KJV) “16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.” I love this passage of scripture because it helps me in my daily walk with the Lord.
  7. Psalms 27:1-2 “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.” I love the entire passage because when the evil days are upon me, man I find refuge and safety in this passage…

The purpose of Prayer Works Café was born out of the passion to pray.  I grew up praying and therefore my life is built on the foundation of prayer. Prayer is a heart communication between man and God.

This is a vital part of a believer’s development.  Talking to God can be compared to a conversation with man.  The enemy has created several lies around who can and should pray.

The difference between praying to God is that you can be totally candid and through the Holy Spirit over a period of time the conversation will be developed from perhaps one word to several words.

Another dimension can be from words to praying scriptures. Meaning, the Holy Spirit helps with building a spiritual or a supernatural vocabulary. He teaches on what to pray, how to pray and develop a sensitivity around when to pray.

Listening

Listening is a key component of praying.  Like any conversation there is a messenger and the recipient; this role is interchangeable for the duration of the conversation.

The same is with prayer.  We pray and we should be listening to hear what God has to say.

Who should pray?

Hebrews 4:16 (KJV) “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

The only condition in this command  is to “…come boldly…” Therefore anyone and everyone should pray.  God is very much interested in our prayers.  Sometimes He answers immediately and at other times there is a waiting process.

How to Pray

Following the format of the Lord’s Prayer works greatly. Matthew 6:13-19

  • Acknowledge The Lord (Call Him by name, He is our Father)
  • Praise His Name (Offer Praises to God)
  • Pray for his will to happen
  • Ask for what you need, be specific
  • Ask for his leading
  • Pray for his deliverance
  • End with more praise

When to pray

1 Thessalonians 5:17 “Pray without ceasing.”

This is a command which means pray always. Therefore we are to be praying every time, everywhere, and anytime. Pray constantly! It’s limitless!

It is important for us to develop a healthy habit to communicate with God on a consistent basis. Prayer is a tool which is used in warfare against the devil.

No prayer and the believer die spiritually, more prayer and the believer steps into a deeper depth, and higher heights with God.

Through prayer a covenant relationship is created with God and man. “A prayer-less Believer is a powerless Believer.”
